Infinartum is pleased to announce the launch of six new prints from Terry Freemantle, which were launched at the Infinartum Winter 2008 Exhibition at Sandford Springs, Kingsclere, on Friday 7th November.
These first six Giclée prints, published exclusively by Infinartum and printed on Hahnemuhle German Etching 310gsm paper, are limited editions of 240 each, numbered and signed by the artist with Certificates of Authenticity.
Terry Freemantle was born in Southampton and lived there until he married and moved to Winchester. On leaving school he trained for five years in the colour separation process of the lithographic printing industry, where he has since spent most of his working life. Considerable artistic skill was a requirement of the job at that time and although it has now been replaced by electronic wizardry, the basic principles learned in the use of colour, tone and contrast contributed much to his later success as a painter.
His paintings of local landscapes and buildings were very well received and the range of prints and greeting cards he published from them are very popular. With two calendars, produced for 2000 and 2004, they have led to many commissions and the demand for his work continues at the galleries which show his originals. Most of his output is in watercolour but he also enjoys working in oil and soft pastel.
He now lives with his wife Valerie in a tiny hamlet in the hills of central Portugal, where the clear air and the consistent quality of the light are ideal for the artist. The beautiful countryside and coast are rich sources of inspiration and subjects.
