Lesley Thiel's paintings of horses are well known for their energy, spirit and passion. Her paintings are the result of long hours spent with horses, studying their movements and anatomy. This is not the focus of her work, however, for her interest lies in the personality of horses and in their behaviour. She travels extensively to visit the horses she paints, always enchanted by the grace and beauty that inspires her to paint new works.
Most of Lesley's works are of horses being themselves in freedom. However, she has a deep respect for the relationships between human and horse and the work both put into displays of horsemanship, translating this into meticulously observed works of art.
Lesley's work has appeared in numerous galleries and is sought after by collectors in the UK and further afield.
