As well as her gallery work which is increasingly sought after, Penny is now well known for her spiritual paintings.
After exhibiting her work on a solo tour of ten Cathedrals in the UK, Penny was commissioned for "a major project of national significance" in Blackburn Cathedral, Lancashire, in 2005. This consists of the permanent display of 15 6ft paintings. With accolades from Desmond Tutu “wonderfully creative” and sponsored by Blackburn Rovers FC this “extraordinary exhibition will be seen by generations to come.”

Zest Frances’ work is always defined by her emotional response to her subject matter. She states that her major historical influence and inspiration are the sweeping landscapes of JMW Turner, and although her work has the same ephemeral quality, her approach is very modern. The technique used on each painting is unique, she does not restrict herself in terms of material used, and often mixes such diverse medium as oils, inks, glazes and bleach - each element reacting differently and creating varied textures, colours and unique effects each time.
Frances loses herself in her work and gives instinctively of herself to each painting. This focus and dedication to her work can be clearly seen in each of her haunting landscapes - there is nothing half-hearted about her commitment to creating a piece of art that will be enjoyed for years and even centuries to come.
